The Catskill Mountain Boys

Henry Hermann

Henry Hermann started violin at the age of six, but did not start fiddlin'
until age twenty-two when he joined the Almost Heaven Band in
Miami, Florida. He moved back to the Catskills in 1993, and hooked
up with the Blue Savannah Band, played and recorded with
several local bands in the area doing Hard Rock, Oldies, Celtic,
Traditional, Classic Country, Bluegrass, Folk, and released his first
solo album with Debra Osherow titled FiddleHawk.Ó
Henry sings harmony and plays fiddle and helped to gather the
local talent to form the Aurora North Catskill Mountain Bluegrass band aka Catskill Mt. Boys.

John Van Benschoten

John started playing guitar and banjo at age seventeen. He has played in bluegrass duets
from Prescott, Arizonato Sitka, Alaska - and currently studies the banjo with legendary
banjo picker William Bradford Keith - known to many as 'Bill Keith'
He sings lead vocals, plays banjo and guitar, and helped gather the talent to form the bluegrass
band 'Aurora North' aka Catskill Mt. Boys.

Mike Herman

Funny thing - how we all seem at some time or another to come full circle. After graduating high school,
Mike Herman was searching for a bluegrass guitar instructor when he happened to stumble upon acoustic blues.
His path altered - and he spent the next 18 years playing, teaching, touring and recording the blues.
He and partner John Gillespie comprised the regional Acoustic Blues duo - The Hell Hounds. The years
were spent touring the East Coast, the Mid-West, playing numerous blues festivals, playing with blues
greats such as: Hubert Sumlin, Roy BookBinder, Bob Margolin, John Hammond, and many more. They also recorded three cds, along with
being included on a number of compilation cds - one of which was in consideration for a Grammy! Although no longer a member of
The Hell Hounds - Mike is still consistently keeping the blues alive performing as a solo singer/songwriter. A few years back, Mike found long-time friend
Henry in need of a flat-picker for his newly formed bluegrass band. And - like the circle that completes itself - Mike is once again
also playing bluegrass along with his love of acoustic fingerstyle blues.....,

Todd Pascarella

Todd was born to play bass. He first strapped on a bass guitar in high school when his childhood friends came to their
senses and started a rock band. For eight years, the band evolved and was known as "The Lost Beat Heroes" and later as "Cold Memory."
The music was usually fast and loud, and always true to the spirit of Rock and Roll.
After moving to the Catskills from Long Island in 2001, and with his heart as his musical compass, Todd found his way to the basement
of John VanBenschoten's house - where the band "Aurora North" aka Catskill Mt. Boys - was conceived late one December Night.....,
